The financial services industry in Singapore has its fair share of paradoxes and ironies. A paradox is defined as a statement that seems to contradict itself, for instance, more haste, less speed. One meaning of “irony” is that it is a linguistic device or form of humour that takes its effect from stating or implying the opposite of what is the case or what is intended.
